Enrolment and Registration Rules for Regular Students
Every student who joins a recognized school or college under BISE Gujranwala must be enrolled (Matric) or registered (Intermediate) with the Board. Your school or college sends your details to the Board, and you receive a registration number that stays with you until you pass. The Board's official rules are in the document below, and each part is explained in simple words further down this page.

How Registration Works, Step by Step
- You take admissionYou join Class 9 or Class 11 in a school or college recognized by the Board, within the Board's admission schedule.
- The institution sends your detailsThe Head of the institution submits your name and particulars to the Secretary with the fee, inside the prescribed schedule. Late submission means the institution pays a fine.
- You get a registration numberThe Board informs you of your registered number. Keep it safe, as it is quoted on every later application, including your exam admission form.
- Your record is checked at exam timeWhen you apply for the exam, the Board compares your form with the registration record. If the details do not match, your application can be refused.
Only students listed in the registration return can appear in the Part-I exam as regular candidates. If a student leaves, migrates, or is struck off, rusticated or expelled, the institution must report it to the Board right away. Make sure your school or college is on the Board's list on our affiliated institutes page.
Correcting Mistakes in Your Registration
Before the exam starts
For regular students, details can be corrected until the exam begins, on payment of the prescribed fee with documentary proof. After that, the longer procedure under Regulation 5 of Chapter III applies.
Clerical mistakes
A request from the Head of the institution on official letterhead with stamp is enough, plus the prescribed fee. Only any two of these can be corrected: name, father's name, photo and date of birth.
Re-admission in Part-I: The 33% Rule
You can re-admit in Part-I if
- You got less than 33% marks in one or more subjects in the Part-I exam
- You were absent from the Part-I exam
- Re-admission can be in the same or another group, in any institution, in the same year
You cannot re-admit in Part-I if
- You got 33% or more marks in the Part-I exam
- You have already sent your admission form for the Part-II exam
- You are not in the registration return (you cannot sit Part-I as a regular student)
Two admissions in one year: If a regular student takes admission in Part-I at one institution and later gets a second admission within the schedule at another, the first admission is treated as cancelled and the second is valid. The student must still apply to the Board, through the head of the previous institution, to cancel the first admission.
