BISE Gujranwala Migration Rules
Migration means moving your studies from one place to another after you are registered with the Board. You may need it when your family moves to another city, when your school or college does not teach the subject you want, or when you want to continue in another board's area. BISE Gujranwala allows three kinds of migration, and each one has its own conditions, fee and documents. The Board's official rules are in the document below, explained in simple words further down.

1. Migration from Board to Board (NOC)
To leave BISE Gujranwala and join another board or university, you need a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Board. Only students already registered with the Gujranwala Board, as regular or private candidates, can get it.
- Get registered firstIf you joined Class 11 here but are not registered yet, apply through your principal on the registration form with a Rs. 400 challan. If you passed Matric from another board, submit the registration form, a Rs. 900 challan, your previous board's certificate or marks sheet, and that board's NOC through your principal.
- Pay the NOC feeDeposit Rs. 1,000 at Habib Bank Ltd., BISE Branch Gujranwala or another approved branch.
- Attach your documentsAttested photocopies of your certificate, degree or result card and registration card, plus extra photographs (see below).
- Add an affidavit if neededIf you passed or failed Matric or Intermediate in an earlier year, an affidavit on stamped paper is required (explained below).
Photographs required
Affidavits for previous-year candidates
Passed in an earlier year
An affidavit on stamped paper, attested by a Magistrate or a Principal or Headmaster, stating that you did not get admission in any college, did not register with any board, and were not disqualified during the gap period.
Failed in an earlier year
An affidavit on stamped paper, attested in the same way, stating that you did not pass that Matric or Intermediate exam from any other board.
Inter-province migration
Banned, except for transfers: The Board has stopped migration to boards in other provinces. The only exception is a transfer or change of residence, supported by an affidavit on stamped paper attested by the First Class Magistrate or Tehsildar of the area you have moved to.
Other board-to-board cases
2. Migration from College to College
Intermediate students registered with the Board can change college within the Gujranwala Board area for one of these reasons:
Your migration checklist:
- Fee: Rs. 1,000 at HBL BISE Branch Gujranwala, original challan pasted on the back of the form
- Present principal: attests the form, notes any remarks, and records your provisional promotion or detention
- New principal: approval of the college you want to join
- Medical certificate: from a registered doctor, if the reason is illness
- Not registered yet (Matric from another board): registration form, Rs. 900 fee, Matric certificate or marks sheet, and the previous board's NOC attested by the principal
Good to know
- The new college does not charge again the month's fee already paid (Intermediate fee covers 24 months)
- A student struck off the rolls can seek re-admission in the same class during the term, with the College Leaving Certificate
- The Chairman can still allow migration in genuine hardship cases
Avoid these mistakes
- Do not take the College Leaving Certificate before the Board approves, or the new admission is illegal
- Do not submit the form without the principal's promotion or detention entry
- Do not plan a move within the same city, as local migration is discouraged
3. Migration from School to School
Class 9 and 10 students registered with the Board can change school for the same four reasons as colleges: change of residence, objection within three months, a subject not offered, or changed financial conditions with the Headmaster's recommendation.
- Fee: Rs. 1,000 at HBL BISE Branch, original challan on the back of the form (not refundable)
- Present Headmaster or Headmistress: attests the form, notes any remarks, and records promotion or detention
- New school: approval of the Headmaster or Headmistress of the school you want to join
- Medical certificate: from a registered doctor, if the reason is illness
As with colleges, the new school does not charge again a month's fee already paid (Class 9 and 10 fee covers 24 months), local migration in the same city is discouraged, and the Chairman may allow migration in genuine hardship cases.
